Canada vs United Arab Emirates Preview:
Canada are coming off a heavy defeat to South Africa in their tournament opener, a result that pushed them to the bottom of the Group D table. Despite the setback, they’ll be looking to take a few positives from that performance and stay in the fight.
Navneet Dhaliwal continues to be their standout player. He has been Canada’s most reliable batter in recent times and showed his class again with a superb half-century against the Proteas on Monday. He’ll once again be the key figure in the batting lineup, with support expected from Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton, and Shreyas Movva through the middle overs. At the top, Dilpreet Bajwa and Yuvraj Samra need to provide a quick start to ease the pressure on the middle order.
The bowling attack, however, remains a major concern. The seamers lacked control in the previous game — Kaleem Sana, Dilon Heyliger, and Jaskaran Singh all went wicketless while conceding more than 10 runs per over. Spin could be their best bet, with Ansh Patel likely to play a crucial role in slowing things down and keeping the UAE batters in check.
Like Canada, the UAE also began their campaign with a heavy defeat, going down by 10 wickets to New Zealand. They too will be eager to bounce back strongly.
There were, however, encouraging signs from the UAE batting unit. Muhammad Waseem was in outstanding touch, smashing a fine half-century and building a 100-plus partnership with Alishan Sharafu to set up a competitive total. Sharafu, who scored 55, will continue to anchor the middle order, alongside Harshit Kaushik, Mayank Kumar, and Sohaib Khan.
On paper, the UAE bowling attack looks well-rounded. The pace trio of Muhammad Rohid Khan, Junaid Siddique, and Muhammad Arfan brings variety in the seam department, while Dhruv Parashar and Haider Ali offer two specialist spin options — something that could prove especially valuable in Delhi’s spin-friendly conditions.

CAN vs UAE Pitch Report:
CAN vs UAE Weather Report:
Expected Scores:
2nd Innings: 135–155 runs
Key Notes:
- Arun Jaitley Stadium offers a balanced pitch — good for batting early, but spinners can slow scoring in middle overs.
- Afternoon conditions will be warm and dry, with low chances of rain and moderate humidity.
- Teams batting first typically aim for 150+ to set a competitive total.
- Early wickets will make it harder to post a big score; partnerships are crucial.
- Chasing sides may struggle if they lose wickets in the powerplay.
- Middle overs could see scoring slow due to spin and tactical bowling.
- Teams with deep batting lineups and power hitters in the final overs will have an advantage.
- A first-innings total around 150–160 is likely match-defining.
