We have now two teams who will be competing for the title of Asia Cup 2022 and these are Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India and Afghanistan are out from this edition of the Asia Cup. Both teams fought well but unfortunately were on the losing side.

India lost the 1st super four match against Pakistan. This was a very close match which was sent till the last overs and same we saw their match against Sri Lanka which also went in the last over. We have no doubt that team India is the strongest team in the world but they changed things in their favor. Afghanistan was beaten against Sri Lanka in then their match against Pakistan was a thriller one which they lost on the 20th overs. They were the winning side till the 19th over but Fareed Ahmad was hit two consecutive sixes by Naseem Shah on the first two balls of the 20th over.

India came to Asia Cup 2022 as defenders and many of us were hoping that they will defend their title. They were good in league matches but could not win super four matches. They played well in both matches but were on the losing side. India batted well in the previous match against Sri Lanka and put a total of 172 runs to defend. Rohit Sharma was just superb with the bat. He scored 72 runs on 41 balls with the help of five boundaries and four huge sixes. Suryakumar Yadav scored 34 runs while Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant scored 17 runs each. Virat Kohli failed to open the account on the scoreboard after playing two very good innings.

The bowling of India had not been impressive in Asia Cup 2022. The key reason why they are out from the final of this tournament is the failure of the bowling unit. They are playing with five regular bowlers and don’t have any bowlers like Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who may stop leaking the runs in the middle overs. We think they are also missing Ravindra Jadeja who is out due to injury. Yuzvendra Chahal proved the highest wicket-taker in the previous match with three wickets to his name. Ravichandran Ashwin picked one wicket. We think India will make some major changes in the squad for this match and will give a chance to their bench strength.

Afghanistan throughout played well in Asia Asia Cup and proved that they are a strong and experienced side. Their most recent match against Pakistan was a thriller one which they lost in 20th over. The batting order of Afghanistan failed to put a big total on the board. They could manage to score just 129 runs in 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran proved the highest run-scorer with 37 runs to his name. Hazratullah Zazai scored 21 runs on 17 balls with the help of two boundaries. Gurbaz scored 17 runs while Karim Janat scored 15 runs.

The bowling department of Afghanistan is one of the strongest bowling attacks in the world and they proved this in the previous match against Pakistan. They failed to defend the target of 130 runs and leaked this target with four balls remaining. Fareed Ahmad Malik was the most successful bowler from their side who picked three wickets in four overs for 31 runs. Fazalhaq Farooqi also picked three wickets but he leaked 31 runs in 3.2 overs. He hit two sixes in his fourth over which was a major reason why they lost the match. Rashid Khan performed well as expected. He picked two wickets in four overs against 25 runs.

India had just played 3 T20 matches against Afghanistan where they had won all three matches while Afghanistan had not won any match against India.
